Following a custom of several years’ standing, members of Beta Delta Sorority’s Gamma Xi chap ter entertained with a semi formal tea dance on Christmas afternoon. The semi-formal affair took place at the Weeks Park Golf Clubhouse. Approximately 350 members of the vacationing high school and college set made up the invitation list for the party and called at the clubhouse between 4 and 6 o’clock. Heading the constantly changing receiving line, made up of members of the hostess organ ization, were Miss Patsy Jackson, the sorority president, and Miss Phyllis Crain, vice president. Sig natures for the guest book were secured under the direction of Miss Peggy Smith, the reporter. Decorations in the party room followed the traditional Christmas holiday colors of red and green. The refreshment table, covered with lace, was particularly lovely with a centerpiece of red carna tions and green foliage. Other decorative appointments in the party suite included stream ers of red and green crepe paper across the room with arrange ments of red and green balloons at the chandeliers. Bunches of greenery were used also. This colorful setting was ar ranged by a committee headed by Miss Jackson with Misses Lavena Gowdy and Mary Ruth as her assistants. The refreshment com mittee consisted of Misses Patsy Mullins and Beth Moseley while the invitations were issued by “Ns Peggy Smith and Pansy oe. Chaperons for the occasion were Mesdames J. C. Gowdy, R. R. Mullins, R. W. Ruth and C. W. Jackson. In response to clever blue and silver invitations, approximately 650 Wichitans will be calling at the Wichita Falls Country Club Sunday afternoon where “open house” is being held. A quartet of hosts and hostesses for the af fair includes Mr. and Mrs. James, B. Barnett and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Harvey. Greeting the guests will be these four. Assisting with ‘duties of en tertaining are to be a group of their friends including Mr. and Mrs. Roger Tittle, Mr. and Mrs. Benton Ross, Mr. and Mrs. White, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Bro day, all of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Brown of Dallas. The party is scheduled to con tinue between 3:30 and 6:3 o’clock in, party rooms decora to place emphasis upon the blue and silver combination noted the invitations with added touch of winter white. In the foyer, an occasional, table is being decorated with a lovely arrangement of white glad iolus glistening with dew drops. Two circular punch ‘tables and a long -canape table: in.,the main lounge will be other ‘centers a decorative interest, each covere with jewel cloth over. which i blue satin will be draped an caught up in scallops’.by clusters of silver, deep blue and’ ice blue leaves. Frosty foliage also is to be used in garlanding surroundin the punch bowls and the service trays. Illumination is to be provided by blue and white candles in clus tered profusion. Two circular groupings of the burning tapers are to be featured, especially, at the extremities of the long re freshment board. . Other decorations in the party’ suite will place additional em phasis upon the chosen combina tion of silver, blue and white. Tree-like clusters of the foliage especially are to be featured a background material for Miss. Anita Harvey of Denton, harpist, and Mrs. Z. Cowan, her ‘ac companist, who are to provide soft music throughout the after noon.
