John A. Kortan Died.P 0• ■■ i ■ ■ ■John A. Kortan, n young farmer• residing south of town died Doc. ’ 23 at 2 a m,, of pneumonia fol-l lowing influenza, after an illness I of one week. The latter part of \ September lie had had a slight at-; ack of influenza and was not feeling exactly well since. A week. before his death he was compelled to go to bed and his condition gradually grew worse. Funeral was held Tuesday from the home* and burial in the Flak’s cemetery 1 according to the rites of the Z.OB. J. Ilall of which the deceased ( was a member, the funeral being in charge of brother members, Frank Kostroun and F. YV. Ko-ourek. The deceased recently ! sold his farm south of town to his cousin, John Kortan, and was ( moving on his farm near Dante., It is thought that exertion connected with the moving contributed to the cause of his death. He was born in this county in June, 1888, and was some months over 30 years of age. lie is survived by his wife, two sons, 9 and 5 years and daughter 7 years of age Also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ant. Kortan and three sisters: Mrs. J. 1J. Kozel, Mrs Vac. Belies and Mrs. Thus. Ptak. We extend our sympathy to them.Mrs. Lad.
