It would be a world where cruelty and evil desires, injustice and brutality would stalk through the land unchallenged. If He had not come, the choicest passages in literature would never have been written. The noblest works of painters and sculptors would be absent from our art galleries. The great oratories would be stilled. Never would the air vibrate with the soul-stirring passages of the “Messiah’* or the “Hallelujah Chorus.” The darkness of the grave would not be penetrated with the light of that triumphant solo, “I know that my Redeemer liveth.” Benevolent societies, hospitals, children's homes would not be found anywhere. In bereavement, there would be no longer comfort, there would be no assurance of a Friend who goes w’ith us through the valley of the shadow.IF HE HAD NOT COME ... But thanks be to God. He has come! Therefore we welcome Christmaa.Quoted from THE UPPER ROOM.a£a1££££i££££££1£r..*«;1£££a¥¥.
