it MU iii- WOODSON LUMBER, a local family owned business recently celebrated their 85th year in business. The business offers a complete line of building materials, electrical, plumbing, paint, lawn and garden, und farm and ranch supplies. Woodson Lumber was established in 1913 in Caldwell, by brothers H.l*. (Harrie) and J.R. (Jim) Woodson. Today the company continues to be operated by a third generation member of the family, granddaughter Ann Yager Chapman of Bryan. Since 1913, the business has grown to seven retail stores across South Central Texas in Brenham, Bryan, Caldwell, Lexington, Groesbeck, Mexia, and Buffalo, in addition to the home office in Caldwell. The president and chief operating officer for all Woodson stores is Craig Blum of Brenham. All stores combined employ over 100 people. Each store is locally managed and staffed with Tom Reynolds managing the Caldwell store. As part of the 85th Anniversary celebration, Woodson being a proud member of the community, served customers w ith food, drink, and thousands of dollars in free prize draw ings.
