Mrs. Ruth Haddow entertained members of Faith Club at her home on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Eliza beth Hensel opened the meeting with devotions, reading the beautiful Christmas story according to St Luke. It is a story we never tire of hearing Christmas carols were sung and each member present gave a teasing, and gifts were exchanged. The hostess served delicious re freshments to Mrs. Elizabeth Hensel, Mrs. Ida Mae Lawson, Mrs. Lorine Deitrick, and Mrs. Dorothy Edwards The club does not meet the first three months of the year due to uncertain weather conditions. The Apr! meet ing will be at the home of Mrs Hensel in Arnot The office employees of the J. P. Ward Foundries enjoyed a Christ mas luncheon at the Hamilton Club on Monday The employees of J P. A formal Christmas Dance will be held at the North Penn High School gym on December 23 from 811 p.m Music is by “Flame ” Have you noticed the Christmas tree by the Battle in Blossburg? Helen Cleveland reported that the following had helped at the Blood mobile both in October at the College and in November at the Armory Doris Cleveland, Helen Cleveland, Margaret DePriest, Beulah Palmer and Marcella Soporowski The Hospitality Committee for this special Christmas meeting consisted of Marion Allinger, Marge Chilson, Helen Cleveland, Carolyn Hayes, Julia Jerzak, Nelly Knowlton and Marcella Soporowski. The ladies did a marvelous job in decorating the tables in addition to serving. Guests present were the Rev Debr Casey and Helen Gray Part of the program for the day con sisted of singing several Christmas carols, starting with “Jingle Bells” and concluding with “Silent Night” Marge Chilson led the singing, Mar garet Justin accompanied at the piano and Helen Lutes passed out song sheets. Helen Lutes, program chairman, handled arrangements for the draw ing of gifts by numbering the gifts and having the members draw numbers to see which gift would be received This proved interesting and exciting. Following the opening of the gifts, all present formed into one large circle holding hands and sang “Odd Acquaintance” and “Merry Christ mas Some held hands they had never held before, making it very friendly. December birthdays were recog nized by having the “birthday-ers” stand for a round of applause. Those with December birthdays were Bll Allinger, Eunice Hulslander and 96- year-old Oscar Lutes Announcement was made during the meeting that two of the members, Eunice Hulslander and Edwin Cooper, were to be united in mar riage on December 20. This an nouncement should alert other mem bers to the fact that these meetings can lead to ever more meaningful re lationships.
