LOS ANGELES CLUB MEMBERS ENJOY DESERT PARTY HEREMr. and Mrs. Nelson Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Eggink, and Nina Anderson, all of whom live on E. Estrella Street, invited members of the Axe Grinders Club and the Sunday MorningIt’s Granddaughter For Joe BomalicksSanta Claus was a little early arriving this year for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dickenson of North Hollywood when a baby girl, named Debra Anne, was horn Saturday, Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank.The mother is the former Frances Marie Bomallek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Bomalick of Hollywood and Desert Hot Springs.Both mother and daughter are reported doing fine and even grandpa is expected to recover.My Neighbors'He figures making like aChristmas tree will save him.”Breakfast Club of Los Angeles to come to the desert for aChristmas party.The Axe Grinders Club is philanthropic and social—founded about 23 years ago by Mrs. Olga Shuey Ro.val. The name signifies “Grind the Axe for the less fortunate. The 41 guests who came in the chartered bus, and the others, GG In ail, enjoyed a well appointed luncheon at Carr's Restaurant, followed by the spirit of Christmas program.The prayer of invocation was given by Bruce Boyle, pledge of allegiance by Ralph Eggink and the Axe Grfnders Crcerl by incoming Chief Alba Hill. Introductions were made of the officers and board members, and special guests, including a few local residents.Christmas enrols were sung with Liillan Clark at the piano. Nelson Brown sang r Love Life. Jim Carter, long time Axe Grinder, sang several delightful songs. Two charming members, Lillian Clark and Margaret Kyle, gave their interpretation of theChristmas story, with songs and readings.Following the program at Carrs, some of the members went to Nina Anderson’s home for the board meeting. Other* were toured around in the bus directed by Ralph Eggink and others to the Brown home. Then light lunches were served in each of the three homes. The special bus departed about 5:30.
