Roberts Girl Sent to Reform School.The jury in the Rasch rape case returned a verdict of guilty, after twenty hours of deliberation. Counsel for defendant, C. A. Kelley, asked for a stay of proceeding for 60 days, which was granted. The case will probablybe appealed.The mother of Edna May Roberts set forth in a petition that the girl is of the age of eleven years and six months, that she is disorderly and incorrigible and beyond the control of her mother and grandparents. Anumber of witnesses were examinedin support of the statements made in the petition, at the conclusion ofwhich the court ordered a commitment to issue at once, for the admission of the girl to the Plankinton school, where she was taken by deputy sherilT John Boyle and Mrs. B. F.Landingham, the girl’s grandmother.toa charge of forgery, was Sentenced a term of six months in the penitentiary.George Beck entered a plea of notguilty to the charge of assault withintent to kill and upon the request of his attorney, W. A. Lynch, further time was given to prepare for trial.The case of Louis Racey vs. South Dakota was put over until the next term of court.The jury, in Mintener-Harvey casereturned a verdict in favor of the plaintilf, requiring Mr. Harvey topa $280, with interest.
