Anumber of witnesses were examinedstatementsthe petition, at the conclusion ofwhich the court ordered a commitment to issue at once, for the admission of the girl to the Plankintonschool, where she wasty sheriff John Boyle and Mrs. B. F.Landingham, the girl’s grandmoth-er.toasa term of six months in the penitentiary.George Beck entered a plea of nobguilty to the charge of assault withintent to kill and upon the request ofhis attorney, W. A. Lynch, furthertime was given to prepare for trial.The case of Louis Racey vs. SouthDakota was put over until the nextterm of court.The jury, in Mintener-Harvey casereturned a verdict in favor of theplaintiff, requiring Mr. Harvey topa}' $280, with interest.
