Plank Bond meeting nt Applet**.Tho citizens o' Appleton and vicinity mat pursuant to a ca I, Id said village, at the Public School House on the evening of the 17th of Decembe-, for the laudable purpose of taking into consideration the construction of a Plank Road from Appleton to Plover Portage and Steven’s Point, on the Wisconsin River. \mos Story, Esq., was called tothp chi and G. W. Woodward, Esq., was appointed Secretary.The Chair then called upon Mr. Reader Smith to state the object of tho meeting, who responded to the call by giving a description of the co intry through which it was contemplated to ;ase, andctosed by showing the importance oi Plank Ilocls to a community composed of an agricultural, mercantile, and meehaoi lal population.On motion, the Chair appointed Messrs. G. W. Wood war 3, Robert Morrow, and W. B.
