| TELLS A TALE OF MANY YEARS AGO.Seven! v-fivc vears or more in the past a fine forest pine standing near the home of Mr. Willis Kil gore's, a few miles .beyondBethlehem.In those clays that was a part of Walton and Mr. Kilgore was then one of the wealthy farmers of thatcounty.A horse shoe was nailed to this tree for the convenience of hitch* ing horses and the nails used were home made.The tree continued to grow until this horseshoe was embedded in it and hidden to view.•10 years or more ago it was cut down and a huge block sawed off for a buttling block and this blockhas since been in 1 lie lasement of the old Kilgore home.
