Nab Emerald Thief After Long Search# Washington, D. C., TP—The Department of Justice announced today the arrest of a former Olympic wrestling champion for the theft of the famous Empress Josephine emerald.The prisoner was identified as William Benedict Finley Quinn He was seized by FBI agents in San Francisco. The Justice department revealed that the emerald w'hich was presented to Josephine by Napoleon at the height of his triumph—was valued at more than $40,000.It was brought to America some years ago, and was lent to a Hollywood fur store by a jewelry firm in 1936. Quinn was night watchman- at the fur store.He vanished at the same time as the gem and has been sought by the Department of Justice for three years.
