AMERY — Amery took a 12-10 first quarter lead but behind the shooting of guards Mike Dieckman and Dave Nelson, Mon dovi roared back to beat the War riors 59-41 in Middle Border boys’ basketball action on Friday. Hitting most of their shots from the outside, Dieckman scored 18 points and Dave Nelson 17 for the Buffaloes (2-1, 3-3). Scott Christopherson added 10 more for Mondovi which outscored Amery 17-7 in the third quarter. Basketball Middle Border boys Hudson (3-0, 4-2) trailed at half time, 26-22, and the third quarter of the tight defensive game ended in a 34-34 tie. But the visitors gained a five-point lead and protected it by swishing 14 free throws. The Raiders outscored Durand (1-2, 1-5) by 28-17 in the last period. The Panthers had three scorers in double figures, Brad Hinrichs with 15, Dale Linz 14 and Bob Gruber 10. Bob Richards scored 18, Todd Gunderson 15 and Tom O'Keefe 11 for Hudson.
