Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rogers have received a letter from their son, Pvt. DeWayne C. Rogers, written Dec. 6, which greatl/ relieved the anxiety, lhey had felt since receiving notice that he had been wounded in the fighting in Korea. He wrote from a hospital in Yokahoma, Japan, stating that he was getting along fine. A bullet entered under the right cheek bone, went through both sinus cavities and was removed from under his left eye. DeWayne was in the 7th Division, which was trapped, and heard that his battalion was wiped out. He said that he got the man who shot him; and that he is sending a Purple Heart medal home.
