VAGUE STATEMENT—PEDDLER’SLICENSE.A Subscriber, Avoca, Wis.—I recent-lv pinned a contract with a certain Indiana stock powder company to sell their powder in an Iowa county. Does the law of Iowa require me to have a license for such work, and if so, what will it cost?Answer.—Your statement is so vague and indefinite that it is difficult to answer your question. You fail to state whether the powder is a con-dim ental stock food or concentrated commercial feeding stuff, or a patented stock food claimed to possess medicinal properties, or a medicinal drug powder. We therefore advise you to read carefully chapter 176 and chapter 189 of the session iawrs of Iowa for 1907. Whatever the powder may be, in order to sell it through the Iowa county, you will have to have a peddler’s license, which costs $25 per year for a pack peddler on foot.—$50 ! for a peddler with one-horse conveyance and $75 for a peddler with twro-horse conveyance. The w'ord “peddler” includes and applies to all transient merchants and itinerant vendors selling by sample, or by taking orders whether for immediate or future delivery.FREIGHT RATES.Mr. Alonzo Hauno.
