turned.i♦IJoyd Phoenix, a well-known yachtsman, was arrested in NewYork Thursday, charged withthreatening the life of Mrs. Laura W. Thorpe,at her apartments. Mr. 'I horpe is suing for a divorce from his w;fe on the ground of alleged improper intimacy with Phoenix. The latter’s quarrel with Mrs. Thorpe was occasioned by his demanding the return of certain letters he had'written her.
