Dr. Neuman appeared yesterday before Judge Smith, and gave bail for $1,000 for his appearance on the 8th of January. Messrs. Rahskopf and Stratton went upon the bail bond. Mr. Louis Callahan desires us to say that Miss Callahan was in no wise related to him, she and her sister simply having been taken by the family from the Cincinnati orphan asylum many years ago and adopt ed. For ten years, however, or since the death of Mr. Callahan, of whom mention was made yesterday, Miss Callahan has not lived with the Callahan family or been in any way intimate with its members. Miss Callahan boarded with the family of Mrs. William Garrett, five or six miles southeast of town. Mrs. Garrett, of course, was entirely ignorant of the circumstances. Miss Anna Callahan, sister of the de ceased, arrived yesterday afternoon from Olathe.
