'YcThe “creature,” or large bird that this is w observed recently west of thefour Ncl-the womencity along Route 33, sonville women returning lateat night from the Logan Goodyear plant may have been agreat horned owl.saw.Two other motorists reported seeing a large bird, which theywere certain was an owl.Some area residents who haveseen and know of the presence of the horned owl in this vicinity have volunteered theopinionspecies attains very large size In any event, great homed owls and cranes are under protection of federal and statelaws.Persons investigating the ‘unusual goings-on” should confine their activities to observationonlv. Shooting or otherwiseharming the birds would likelybring a penalty to persons apprehended.It was indicated that a num bcr of residents in the Route 33 area where the “creature” hasbeen sighted, are on the alert and attempting to make positive identification.
