The subject of this sketch isthe son of James, and Cynthia Thomas. He was born in Princeton, Gibson Co., Ind.. on May 27, 1857, was married to Miss Ver* minia Shreeves, Nov. 21, 1878, at Decker, at which place he wasrunning a blacksmith shop. He came to Hazleton March 4,1882, and immediately set up a blacksmith shop and his steady increase of business shows him to be a good workman and a better machinist cannot be found in Southern Indiana.AAt first Mr. Thomas’ shop wason a small scale, but he has been* * %adding to it until now he has a4full line of steam machinery. He and his son John are fully equipped to do any kind of work in iron having a large turning lathe and steain hammer. They blow the fires in two .^forges jby ^team. They also do horse shoeing.
