IN CROOKED WAYS.Young Girl Wanted in Peoria is ArrestedIn This City.Baturdaj' at about noon Marshal Scliroeder received word from Peoria that Maud Davis was wanted there on a charge of larceny, and she was supposed to be in Bloomington. Within a half hour afterward the marshal had Maud Davis under arrest, having found her in a resort on South Hill. She is a young girl of about 17 years of age and quite comely. An ollicer arrived from Peoria last night and took her to that city. He said she was wanted on a charge of stealing a dress. The girl claimed the charge was only for a board bill which she owed. The Davis girl told Marshal Schroeder a rather pitiful story of her erring life, which she said had been of only a few months duration. She recently came from Peoria to Bloomington.
