A noticeable amount did spill on the ground.According to an previous reports the Dulce residents were not supposed to feel the impact of the Gasbuggy shot. This was not true as all the residents, other than those in vehicles, did feel the movement of the ground and heard the rumbling sound. All of the residents who had experienced the earthquakes were unanimous in the remarks that the results of the shot were much like the earthquakes. The motion of the ground and the sound lasted approximately five to six seconds.A number of people who had not been here during the January 1966 ground shakes were more frightetned than those who were here. There were many reportsthat windows rattled, houses rocked, and some merchandise fell to the floor at the Big D shop ping center. Some of the resident^ were on the safe side and made a special effort to be out of towr that afternoon.Through the cooperation of the Tribal, State Federal and RCC members there were road block* set up at 11 different roads or and off the reservation to maklt; sure that no persons were in the area at the time.A helicopter was flown ovei the area during the late Sunda; morning hours to double checl that there were no persons in ; 10-mile radius of ground zerc The personnel from the projec had recommended, and enforced a five-mile radius area be close* off.
