OBITUARYGeorge HigginsGeorge Higgins, 80, of Esther-^». ville, died at his home there onTuesday morning, Dec. 2, at 4:25a. m., an invalid for 15 years. Hewas a long, time resident of Terrili and moved to Estherville 12 years 3 ago.Mr. Higgins was bom September 6, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Higgins of Ida 3 county, Iowa. He attended e!e-£ mentary school at Schaller and 5 Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and attended 3 Buena Vista college. He was m aril ried September 23, 1903, to Gracia I Ressegui at Schaller. He worked 7 for a time in an implement busi-| ness at Elnora, HI., following their j marriage and for 12 years he operated a hardware store at Schaller. He farmed at Terril for many 3 years, and was a member of the Terril Methodist church and I taught a boys' Sunday school * class, was chairman of the official board and was a Sunday school superintendent. He was active in community affairs and served an the first ccmmittee for the Dickinson county REA, and was a member of the Dickinson County j Farm Bureau.j Funeral services were held De- I comber 4 at the First Methodist! church m Estherville.. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery I at Terril. Pallbearers were Clare Nelson, Dyle Lastine, Duane Osborne, John Clark, Guy Eick and Alvin Cook.He is survived by his widow, one son, Harold, of Traer. a daughter, Mrs. William (Gladys) Henn, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
