Collection of Works of Art From Italy on Display During the Holiday Season. Brumback Library has on display a collection of art works from Italy. There are several pieces of Venetian glass, a large portfolio of tooles leather from Florence, a number of pieces the work of famous silver smiths of Florence, some embroidery from Assisi, cameos carved from lava, a Della Robbia plaque, and sev eral other objects. A glass vase is typical of the Venetian work as it represents a shell ornamented with a sea horse. There are several pieces of jewelry set with lapis lazuli, one piece of which is hammered silver. An unusually fine example of filigree silver work is represented by a large spoon, and a small spoon has its handle ornamented in mosaics worked out with minute pieces. Another fea ture of the exhibit are several pic tures ranging from a copy of the frescoes on the walls of Pompeii and a primitive of the Madonna to the modern Italian flower girl. The dis play will remain at the library through the holiday season.
