Highly Respected Citizen of Warren Town ship Laid to Rest After A Short illness Ole J, Tweett was ‘born in Brig dals, Bygden’Husness, , Norway, May ‘29, 1857, ‘and . died. at. his home four: miles’ south. east * of Roland at 460’clock’ Sur. day. morn ing’ December 14,’ 4913. v after’ a short illness’ of about ten days. In the year 1866, ‘he emigrated ‘to this country, in’ ‘company, with His father, John J. “‘Tweet, ‘his three brothers, Johanes, Joe, and Abel and_ his. ‘two sisters, Caroline and Hattie. They set tled down on a farm,’ ‘which is now known as:the ‘old John J. Twedt homestead two and a half miles south east of Roland. He was united in marriage to Augusta. Lien, ‘eptember 28, 1872’ and to this union was born four children, of whom three are living. _ Mr..Twedt lived a good life and was granted the great privi lege of keeping his senses, so that, during the last days of his life he ‘ sould bare most beautiful testimony of his trust'in his,Sav ior. . He was a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent: ‘father, to his sisters*a tender brother and to his friends -the soul of fellowship.. ‘His cheerful help ful life, his devotion to his. ‘wife and, family, and his kindness to everybody will long linger’ as a fragrant. ‘memory, in ee home which “his presence and which death has no ened. ‘Though he is: ‘gone, his remembrance will remain‘ with us as a ‘lasting ‘treasure, His life was gentle, but like the still water, it was deep. In his. heart of hearts, they carried ‘those ‘he loved, and. his hand was never weary, his step never failed in caring for and ministering to his family. . It is sad to give up:one whose influence has always been for good. Yet He who. doeth.all things well, making. mistake. Besides a devoted wife’ he leaves two, sons Joseph and Oscar, one daughter, . Lizzie, Copsey adopted son Knudtie- Lien ant Vahost:‘of relatives and, friends, Well may we. ‘cherish: his memory. as a precious : legacy, and. ‘put our trust in God who i is ‘willing, and able to save anyone, geaming to Him in truth and a pinfit. Funeral services were conduct ed at Bergen’s church yesterday afternoon «at. .20’ clock «Rev. Lerud officiating: Song’, 8 were touchingly rendered by a quartette. The floral offerings were surpassing in profusion and beauty. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery and the gathering was one of the largest in attendance at a funeral which shows the rever ence and respect in which the deceased was held in the commu nity.
