Brooks, of Emmerton, Va., ia in jail at Weatminater, Md., on a charge of passing a bogus check on a merchant at Mt. Airy, Md.Brooks is a genteel looking young man. He registered under the name of Blackman. Eight bogus checks were found in his pockets.
