Photo®haph?.—We bad the pleasure of examining, with tome degree of critical care, a rery large and ewplrt* collection of magnificent cabinet photographs of Montana scenery at the ai« rooms of J. L. Douglas*. This wonderful science of photography, which has been brought to *ucb a sensitive degree of perfection that the very growth and movement of plants are caught and imprinted upon surfaces m vivid colon has never been more beautifally displayed than in the beautiful view* of .Montana scenery. Even the sunlight and shadow, that tonch in delicate venciling* of exquisite beauty these grand scenes about us, ar* caught and left lovely captives upon the paper that tells forever of the perfection of art and the beauty and CTundeur of this Switserland of America. Theee view* were taken by Mr. C. R. garage of the celebrated firm of Savage A Ottinger, of Salt Lake City, during bis summer trip through the Territory. Mr. Savage's fame as a scenic photographic artist u national. He baa few equals in this country and we know of noae that are his superior. He has expended much time, exhibited great care, and displayed exquiiite taste in the selection of his subjects, which compri-e not only the Missouri Falls, due* of Helena and Virginia, Boulder and Prickly Pear Valley* and Fort Benton, but ruy point of interest aod every resting place of beauty in the Territory. Chrtstaaas and New Ya»rs are approaching. The day* are coming when Christian relative* are expected, in accordance with the customs of our Pilgrim Father*, to preeent “peace offering* for family rsasons, and we know of nothing that mono tun friends can send to their eastern relative* that will be #o oeeuti-rul and interesting as a series of these view*. They are cheap, a few dollar* will purchase a very complete collection. We recommend all who lore art and admire the beauties of Moutsna, to call upon Mr. J. L. Douglass, the courtly gentleman and accomplished artist. who corrals (he shadow ere the substance retire*, at this splendid art gallery.
