MONDOVI — Fall Creek held off a late charge by Mondovi in the final seconds to beat the Buffaloes 51-49 in boys’ non-conference basketball on Tuesday Dennis Kinderman’s two free throws with less than 30 seconds left gave the Crickets (3-2) a 51-45 lead, but baskets Dave Nelson and Rick Parr pulled the Buffaloes (3-2) within two. A missed free throw gave Mondovi one last chance, but Nelson couldn't get off a final shot. Kinderman led the Crickets with 12 points while Pete Kling had 11 and Rich Cota and Chad Burton 10 each. Steve Rohrscheib had 13 points for the Buffs while Dave Nelson had 11 and Najib Schlosstein 10. Both teams return to conference action Friday. Fall Creek goes to Altoona while Mondovi is home against Baldwin- Woodville.
