Benjamin Custer DiesBenjamin Franklin Custer, 78, died at the Dodge county hospital Saturday morning. He was born February 4, 1864, at Washington, Iowa. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, Brotherhood of Railway Clerks, Royal Highlanders and the Methodist church. He came to Fremont from Shelby about 35 years ago and was engaged in buying and selling horses. During the last war he was a government agent for the purchase of horses, In 1919 he started to work for the North Western railway at the freight house where he remained unital his retirement about five years ago. He bad been in good health until a few months ago, becoming seriously ill last Sunday. He is survived by his wife and three sons: William Cu*ter, of Fremont; Major Lawrence Custer, located in Australia, and Frank J. Custer of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. One brother, William, lives at Washington, Iowa.Funeral services were held in Fremont at 2 p. m. Monday in the chapel of the Fred Bader funeral home. Rev. Paul Hill* man officiated. Masonic services were held. Burial was made in Ridge cemetery.
