G. Janes of Rosebud, a cooperator with the Cen tral Texas Soil Conserva tion District for almost 20 years, is in the process of revising and updating his soil conservation plan on his farm near Pleasant Grove, Me. Janes and Pat Rice, soil conservationist at Rose bud went over the farm and worked up a basic soil conservation farm plan Janes plans to carry out a conservation cropping system on his cropland by using small grain as a high residue soil improving crop in a rotation, with his raw crops. Janes also plans to shape and sprig Some Waterways and some critical areas. He plans to start work on the critical areas this month He also plans to construct some tmiere terraces. Rice discussed pasture Management with Janes and explained why it was nec essary to maintain an ade quate stubble height on pas ture grasses. Mr. Janes has been doing a good job of pasture management. The common bermuda grass was knee high in his pasture.
