His boot brought Tularosa a 3-0 upset win over Socorro.The record-tieing mark went to Ronnie Morton of Carlsbad who kicked 35 extra points for the Ciass AA champion Cavemen this season.Arnold’s mark shattered the old Class A scoring record of 177 set in 1954 by Sal Gonzales of Anthony Gadsden. His 28 touchdowns also surpassed Gonzales’ Class A TD mark of 24.Dominguez’ field goal established a record for most field goals in one season by a Class B player—one,Morton came within six points of the state record for scoring by kicking which was set in 1960 by Eddie Belt of Farmington with 41 points on 35 extra points and two field goals Morton's 35 conversions tied him with Belt for the Class AA conversion record.Only one other player scored more than 100 points this season —Gary Parker of Class A cham-pon Anthony Gadsden.
