Long, 91, Pioneer Citizen, Buried Here MondayartoodBois«EBwGGMrs. Cora Belle Lon*?, 91, pioneer resident of Rosebud, died in ai Halbert Clinic and Hospital Sunday at 11 ;25 a.m. She had been confined to the hospital since she fell at her home on Friday, Dec.2 and fractured her hip.Mrs. I/ng was born in Mississippi Aug. 15, 18€9 and came \ to Texas with her family when sho was J2 year old, settling a in Milam county, near Jones e Prairie. She had lived in Rose- y bud since 1888.She was married to Frank 2 Ward, a merchant, in 1888. He y died in 1890.Mr. W'ard had operated the first store erected in the Rosebud area. At that time, the only other building in town was a post office.Mrs. Long later married L. K. Long in November 18*90. He died in 1945.She was a member of the Baptist church.Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday from the First Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. T. A. Binford, officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery with NicholsonHoelscher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.Survivors are five sons, Claude Ward of Harlingen, Horace Long of Rosebud, Purvis Long of Nav- asta, Arthur Long of Houston S1 and Bryan Long of Graham; f* three daughters.
