Long, 91, Pioneer Citizen, Buried Here MondayantoibuofBrofBB.WlGiofMrs. Cora Belle Long, 91, pio neer resident of Rosebud, died in an Halbert Clinic and Hospital Sunday at 11:25 a.m. She had been , se confined to the hospital since she j fell at her home on Friday, Dec. A 2 and fractured her hip.Mrs. ljng was born in Mi sissippi Aug. 15, 18£9 and camel \ to Texas with her family when ,{i *h was 12 year old, settling ar in Mil am county, near Jones f.x Prairie. Sh had lived in Rose-bud since ]88»8.She was married to Frank 2 Ward, a merchant, in 1888. He \f died in 1890.Mr. Ward had operated the first store erected in the Rosebud area. At that time, the only other building in town was a post office.M rs. Long later married L. K. Long in November 1895. He died in 1945.She was a member of the Baptist church.Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday from the First Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. T. A. Binford, officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery with NicholsonHoelscher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.Survivors are five sons, Claude W'ard of Harlingen, Horace Long J1/-of Rosebud, Purvis Long of Nav-asta, Arthur I/Ong *rf Houston and Bryan Long of Graham; three daughters.
