In it- effort to promote magic as an art, hobby, and form of entertainment, the local organization has announced thefollowing quail boat ions to compete in competition, to be held the night of January 20. 1956 at its studio at 139 Seas-ide Ave., Stamford.The contestant must be a malebetween the ages of fourteen and eighteen inclusive. He must put on a performance of a magical nature no longer than ten minutes and no less than five. He must be a re^dent of Stamford or surrounding communities. His performance will be judged on the basis of showmanship. presentation, skill, and entertainment value. Performance may bo anything rom coin tricks, card tricks, clo»e-up magic to large stage illusions. Tricks need not be original, andl jugglers and ventriloquists cannot compete. *The contestant need not be professional or ever have given a public performance. There are no fees or charges to enter. The contestants will be judged on the night of January 20, when a winner will be selected. Refreshments will be served after the contest. The winner will be given a trouphy and will be a guest of the organization at its annual dinner to be held January 25 at Long Ridge Inn.
