Thieves struck again in south Ottumwa Tuesday night, this time breaking into three business houses. Biggest loot was obtained at the Chesmore grocery, 911 Church street, where entrance was gained through a door on the north side of the building. Detectives said that on the list of stolen goods were: Two sacks of flour, 100 pounds of potatoes, two picnic hams, 10 cartons of cigarets, 30 pounds of beef, five pounds of bacon, some candy and nuts, and $2.75 in cash. A second robbery was commit ted at the Fabritz Hardware Co., 301 Church street, where two watches, a man’s gold plated wrist watch, and a man's gold-plated pocket watch were stolen. It had not been determined how thieves succeeded in getting through the rear door, which was found open this morning. Also entered after a rear win dow was smashed was Conner Bros. service station, Myrtle and Bardell streets. The report stated that nothing was believed taken there.
