MEMBER OF FORMER TANK BATTALION FIGHTING IN FRANCE T-4 Quentin Bynum is now fight ing in France with the famous, fighting 712th Tank Battalion, the armored spearhead of the famed Hoth division, once of the first di visions to land in the invasion of the continent. His battalion, com manded by Lt. Col. George B. Randolph, and 90th Division, have received much praise for the mag nificent contribution to the Battle of France. They gained fame in combat among the hedgerows of Normandy in the early days of the invasion and later the famous Bat tle of Foret de Mont Castre. The same outfits figured in the capture of the important city of Le Mans and was instrumental in’ closing the bloody Falaise Gap and the resulting capture of several thou sand German prisoners.’ Set. Bynum joined the battalion on activation and has participated in many big battles across France, as driver of a tank, in company A, 712th Tank Bn. Pfc. Richard L. Webb, 500 East Mcllrath street, is fighting with an Infantry regiment in the current Florence-Bologna offensive in It aly. Alex Jack, 715 West Lincoln street, is among the personnel of the Fighter Group which has just been cited for outstanding perform ance of duty in action against the enemy in the Mediterranean Thea ter of Operations RECEIVES SOUVENIRS FROM HUSBAND Mrs. Lola Edwards has received souvenirs from her husband, Pfe. Leo Edwards, who is a Marine in the Southwest Pacific, and also from her brother, Cpl. Glendal Gulley, who is in the Army field artillery in Germany Her husband sent her Japanese shoes and a Japanese razor and her brother sent her German coins. Her husband has been overseas one year, and her brother about eight months,
