Drop Game 60 to 30: After Giving Staggmen Real Fight in Early Play ER. PIERRE WAINWRIGHT ANDERSON, Ind.... Dec. _414—Af ter playing in top-notch form during the first half, the Red and White quintet weakened in the second per iod of the game with the Anderson high school five tonight and the Staggmen piled to a 69 to 30 vic tory. One of the largest crowds of the season witnessed the game, the humber including a delegation from Connersville. . The Connersville high school band was on hand for the battle and added lots of pep. The Staggmen opened with yea tush and early in the game chil ed up eleven points to none for tie Red and White. The local boys hit their stride however, and soon had tied up the count. For the first twelve minutes it was apparently an even battle but when the period end ed the Staggmen were on the long end of 26 to 16 count. In the second half the locals weakened and their much heavier opponents took advantage of the slump piling up 34 points, while the Red and White was able only to score 14. _ . The Staggmen deserved their vic tory but with the Red and White continuing the pace set in the first half there would have been a differ ent story. The local boys are not discourag ed over the defeat and the next game will find them fighting forevic tury. George Williams, formerly on the Red and White team, is playing center for Anderson Ueigh and gave a good account of himself.
