Turiddu, a foppish• fellow, wins the heart of Lola, but s while he is away, serving in the army,• she inari'ies Allio, a wagoner, Later he returns; then woos and seduceB San-i tuzza. Lola is untrue to her husband, i Jealousy ensues, and is followed by the . natural consequences—the death of the i guilty pair.i This entire story was rendered With i the trag-le IntonsMeas of the human i voice and piano. Miss Bessie Lanier 3 sang the role of Turiddu; Miss Addis t Lanier, Lola; Mrs, George Moss, Alfio;Miss Elizabeth Anderson, Lucia, the 3 mother of Turiddu; and Mrs. Taylor i played the accompaniment. The cho-C ruses, which also embodied the rare . richness of Italian music, were sting by the above ladies and Mesdnmcs Mac-Diarmid, Merrill, Beclmer and Earwood.
