FOXBILT FEEDS, INC., BOUGHT INTEREST IN AMES IN-CROSS HATCHERY Orris J. Osheim, president of Ames In-Cross, Inc., announced today that Foxbilt Inc., of Des Moines has ac quired a substantial stock interest in his company. Mr. Osheim said there will be no change in the personnel of the com pany nor in its general sales and ad vertising programs. The firm’s hatch ery, breeding and research facilities at Roland and Story City will continue under the same management. The trade name, Ames In-Cross, Inc., which is well known in this commun ity, will not be changed and the com pany will continue to operate through its cooperating hatcheries. Until the recent transaction was completed, Ames In-Cross was the on ly major company producing hybrid chickens that did not have another product to supplement the seasonal nature of the poultry market.The combined sales activities of Ames In- Cross, Inc., and Foxbilt Inc., is intend ed to facilitate future expansion and promotion of Ames In-Cross chickens. Both companies cover the same corn belt sales territory and are joining forces to develop potential farm mar kets more completely. Production of Ames In-Cross inbred -crossbred chickens is under the direc tion of Orris Osheim. Osheim, pioneer in the development of hybrid poultry, developed and introduced the Ames In-Cross “301” chicken on the com mercial market in 1947. The rapidly expanding firm established its general office in Ames in 1948. Iast week these offices, which include the sales, advertising and accounting depart ments, were moved to the Insurance Exchange Building in Des Moines. Mr. Wayne Rodgers is the Sales Director and Mr. J. Kenneth Lepley is the Assistant Sales Director of Ames In-Cross, Inc.
