There will be three men in the coming Congress, who will be contestants for the honor of being proclaimed the tallest niembc r. They are Sulloway of New Hampshire, Harchfeld of Pennsylvania and Anthony of Kansas. Sulloway and Harchfeld were rivals in the last House. The former Las a height of 6 feet 0inches, but is round shouldered and istopped by Harchfeld, who is (} feet Anthony is lt;feet 4 inches. The friends of Sulloway have been urging him to take exercise in order to get rid of his hump. If he should succeed he will be a towering figure, at least in inches, in the lower branch of Congress.Advantage has been taken of President Thwing being in Japan to form an association of the graduates of Western Reserve university. The first meeting was held at the Hotel Metropole, Tokio,the evening of September IS. Prof. It. Nakashinia of the class of 1884, of the Imperial university. Tokio, was chosen president, and Mr. Clftrk P. Gannan of the class of 1005, secretary. Prof. Xakashima is professor of ethics in the Imperial university, and is the author of several textbooks on this subject.
