Donaldson, the gentlemanly editor of Oak Leaves, presided at the meeting in his graceful manner and introduced the speakers of theevening, at the (dose of the business▼*session, during which the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:George A. Knapp, James W.Carter, H. J. Mohr. =7 \Mr. Donaldson arose to announce the speakers, when a notable interruption w as made by W. R. Moss,who demanded in stentorian tonesV ?wdiether or not the association hadta president. Upon biing informed that Mr. Lytle was tile retiring executive he demanded ihat Mr. Lytle come forward. But Lytle never budged. Then the sergeant-at-arms was directed to bring himbefore the bar of the house, which duty Svas executed, with Mr. Lylte breathing like a scared have.Mr. Moss then on behalf of the association presented President ‘ii ad-j Itie with a handsome diamond ring of massive size in recognition of his splendid services as presiding officer during the past two years.Mr. Lytle was taken completely by surprise, no inkling having ever reached him. The money w as raised by subscription among the business ?luiroh I men, no one being allowed to givemmer-1 over gfty eeuts. Practically everybusiness and professional man inat the the association contributed to theit cor- I ring fund.The following new members were usiness | admitted to the association*. Dr. 11.C. Worthington, the Home Bakery,F. O. S. Calhoun, O. B. Barker, Jr.,INK aiK^ M**8- I-Jzzie Schnadig. F. It.Jeunison made application for membership, which will he passed upon in the usual manner at the next meeting of the association.The speakers of the evening were H. C. Barlow, Louis E. Yager,Col. K. 8. Conway and Judge Cut-tmg.Mr. Barlow discussed the Chi'* cage Commercial Association, Mr. [Gid Yager gave a brief history of the havOak Park Business Men’s Asaoota-1 drai tion, Colonel Conway spoke on Units, Single and Collective, and Judge Cutting, the guest of the evening, gave a magnificent talk on legal matters.Rev.
