Funeral of T. E. Murphy. The funeral of the late Thomas E. Murphy took place at 9 o’clock yester day morning and was very largely at tended. The remains were taken to the Cathedral where a requiem mass was celebrated. Rev. Father McCormick, in eulogizing the deceased, spoke of him in the highest terms. The remains were interred in Key West Cemetery. The following gentlemen acted as pall bearers: John Bobleter, W. P. Hickey, John Weimer, and M. J. Powers, repre senting the Dubuque Typographical Union, John Schauers and John Ken nedy. Priced upon the casket was a large floral cross from the Union. At a meeting of the Union, held Sun day afternoon, the following resolu tions, drafted by a committee com posed of A. N. Goebel, John Bobleter and M. J. Farley were passed. Whereas, This Union is again called upon to mourn the loss of another of its honored members. Resolved, That in the death of Thomas E. Murphy, our late associate, this Union has lost one who was ever true to the principles of the craft, ur banej in manner, and one whose pres ence will be sadly missed in the delib erations of our organization, and our city a useful and estimable citizen. Resolved, That we extend to his wid owed mother and loved brothers and sisters our sincere sympathy in their deep sorrow. Resolved, That these resolutions be spread upon the records of the Union, and a copy sent to his family and pub lished in the papers of the city.
