Stiia-* i:i) or. Stolex.-Or in some otter undefinablc manner detained from our table, the Decatur Gazelle. We formerly civic*veil the smiles mid favors of the Gazette each week, but fur the last few months it has been withheld. We are nimble to define the cause, we sometimes fe.ir we have not treated the editor, Mr. James Shoaff, to as many puffs u his taste requires: for he loves a good puff, and not uufrequently pulls some brother in order, and with a sole view, of getting piuFcd in letuin. It may be, too, that since the Chronicle has started there his patronage is falling off and he can t afford the paper; if so we will each week remit lam a sheet for our use. As we have no means of learning the truth, we shall beforde27puCOdethatCOCOpuMfoobliged to rely upon the Chronicle to put us in possession of the facts.—bt'l'ctnctUnion.Wc must refer ovir friend of the Union to the Gazette man for a solution of the knotty question. James says that he is doing hotter than over, every week new subscribers and more job work- than he‘ can do, atid we can testify that if lie keeps up the _ same prices he chaTBOtt before the Chronicle commenced, ha is abundantly able to furnish the Union with an occasional sheet. In fhet, if Shoaff is to be believed, another paper would do well in Decatur, for wc hnyw* full supply of job work, and occasionally send our neighbor a job by way of Christian retaliation. Upon a close review of the whole matter wc think the Union js Tery malicious in thus assailing the great Mogul of puffers, in the manner in which it dosa. The Conductor of that Mammoth Establishment must necessarily have a largo amount of .work on his bands; he furnishes that immense sheet with all of its original articles, besides tlie immense culling for Quill and Scissors; in addition to this, be makes up his entire mail,-'A circulation of 2000, (so wo are informed by next years almanac) and it is very likely that amid bo much hurry and confusion our country fiicnds should be overlooked,y, B. Job work neatly executed at this office. Our Motto is to keep ahead of the times.ccinotbi0JwbfcCl-r:0Ion.
