Karen Wahlberg of Oak Forest was installed as the first Worthy Advisor of the newly instituted Oak Forest Assembly of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls at a public installation ceremony last Sunday evening at the Arbor Parkschool auditorium.The line officers serving with her are: Karen Ulmenstine,Midlothian, associate advisor; Sue McCarty, Markham, Charity; Diane Conley, Oak Forest, Hope; and Terry Jean Gunning, Oak Forest, Faith.Other officers selected to serve this first term are; Christine Ahrens, recorder; Pamela Finet, treasurer; Toni Rae Bender, chaplain, all of OakForest; and Beverly Ulmenstine, drill leader, Midlothian.Debbie Conley of Oak Forest was installed as Religion, Barbara Olander ofTinleyPark as Love, Lisa Alex of Oak Forest as Nature, Janet Lewis of Midlothian as Immortality, Barbara Burns and Terry Scott of Oak Forest as Fidelity and Patriotism, and Debra Witte of Tinley Park as Service.Also installed were: Virginia Voutselas of Oak Forest, confidential observer; Sandie Hotho of Worth, outer observer; Charlotte Sirmer of Oak Forest, musician; and Sandra Runyan ofWorth, choir director. KathyMiller of Oak Forest and Renee Colburn of Midlothian are members of the choir. Mrs. Charles Sirmer of Oak Forestis the Mother Advisor.This first corps of officers were selected by the advisory board of which John Gunning is president, Mrs. Raymond Smith, secretary and Harry Finet, treasurer.Miss Harriott Wells of Antioch, Grand Worthy Associate Advisor of Illinois, was the installing officer and conducted an impressive ceremony in which the girls were all attired infloor length white formals.KAREN WAHLBERGOther installing officers were: Miss Nancy Jansen ofOak Lawn, Grand Representative to Vermont from Illinois, installing marshall; Miss Lynne Kraft of Normal, Grand Charity of Illinois, installing chaplain; Miss Virginia Leverick of Chicago Heights, Grand Representative to Louisiana from Illinois, installing recorder; Miss Joanne Hartman of Oak Lawn, installing musician; and Mrs. Bernita Smith of Oak Forest, installing soloist.Mrs. Sirmer said: “It was an inspring ceremony and the girls and I would like to thank everyone who had a part in the institution of the assembly, the initiation and installation,special thanks to Mrs. Ray Smith, the organizer of the assembly; to the sponsoring and advisory board; the Mothers club; the school board of district 145 for the use of the Arbor Park school; Olander Florist for the flowers and decorations; and the parents for their generous support.”The new assembly will meet at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays at the OakForest Methodist church, 159th and Lorel ave.
