Port Angelés residents, who have attended the plays produced by the Community Players for the last few years are aware that each brings forth new talent. “The Closing Door,” which is slat ed for Friday and Saturday nights at the Roosevelt Auditerium, intro duces its share of new faces. Fourteen-year-old Chuck Galla gher, son of Rachel Gallagher, is the first juvenile to join the play ers’ group. He takes the part of David Trahern, son of Norma and Vail Trahern who are played by Frances Gallagher and James Wen ger. Another newcomer to the mem bership is Anthony Okleshen, who plays an ex-jockey pal of Vail’s. In everyday life Okleshen is an elec tronics technician. Supporting these leads are Shirley Martin as Connie (the maid), Carol Johnson as the Gitandmia, Harry Lydiard as Don (the janitor), Hart Smith as Dr. Ed Harriman, Philip Niemeyer as Basil Johnson, Mark Gallagher (sdh of Frances Galla gher) as telegraph boy, and Jack Proctor plays a walk-on part of an attendant. Lewis Sample, the director, says the play offers some of the imear, tensely dramatic scenes ever tackled by the local players. The mounting suspense which reaches a climax in the last act is a real challenge to the talents of his cast The “Closing Door is a dis tinct contrast to the other play di rected by Sample, “Mr. Pim Passes By,” which was a pleasant British comedy. Frances Gallagher is aunt of one juvenile (Chuck Gallagher) and mother of the other has appreciated the rehearsal problem facing the director. In consideration of the young people all cellentials have ended at at early hour. However, Sample says that has not been a Hardship as all the mem bers of the cast work better earlier in the evening and enjoy the short er hours. He believes the wives and big bands of the actors, who were left at home as baby sitters, also liked the arrangement,
