Landon Laird, in his “AboutTown, column in the Kansas City Star writes: “The recent promotion of Miss Helen Stanley. 31. to vice-president and manager of the Muehlebach Flower shop in the Hotel Muehlebach marks another important rise in Miss Stanley’s career at the hotel.The hotel business runs in Miss Stanley’s blood. The Stanley hotel in Brookfield, Mo., is named for her parents, Mr. ana ura. Walter Stanley, who used to own It. Helen Stanley moved to Kansas City in 1940, when sh\ was 19. It was natural that she should seek a hotel position.When the hotel assumed full ownership of the flower shop lest summer, Miss Stanley was sent in there to train the bookkeepers.“How would you like to run the shop?” asked Barney Anis, president and general manager. “You’ve done everything else around the •hotel. »So Miss Stanley moved up the ladder again and now is deep in flowers at the Muehlebach. She is an industrious person in more ways than one. . In her spare time, she manages the home that she bought on Harrison boulevard and has twelve tenants living there. Never a dull moment in Helen Stanley's life.That’s because Helen was always a busy person, even when she was growing up In Brookfield. Since the Stanley Hotel is just across the street from our home, many were the neighborhood visits. Our congratulations. Helen.
