Titans Trample Butler 52-45Tf XT *1 T^# 1 ■In Hard Fight]]aWesleyan’s untiring Green arid White came back Saturday, Dec. 9, to defeat another Hoosier state team, Butler U., 52-45.Butler led the Titans 25-23 at the half, but couldn’t contend with Wesleyan’s power which was thrown at them the second half. It was the same power that was used against Wabash with a little added attraction.Mickey Ewing was the new find and really put out with a topnoteh game of basketball. His performance wasn’t shaded in the least by the excellent performances of the previous nights’ wonder men; although those three lads Hershbarger, Bennett and Herold came back with another great game. Hershbarger contributed 20 points; Bennett, 19; and Herold, 8. It may be added that many of those points were set up by that same Mick Ewing.Play against Butler was fast and furious with thrills every^ minute. The payoff came when one of Jim Herold’s passes was deflected through the hoop by Heacox, the Butler center. After two victories the Tit ah squad will not get a chance to let down. Although they don’t have another tilt until after the holidays they will continue practice under a modified program. On Jan. 8, the “Big. Blue” of Mil-likin university will afford the townspeople an opportunity to see some more fine basketball.
