Albert Behlmer transacted business in Cincinnati Tuesday. David Hair was brought back from the hospital last Friday quite low. He is being cared for by John Hodges and wife. Mrs. Mary Kassen has been a guest of her daughter at Batesville. Mrs. Viola Downey and daughter Bessie were at Versailles last week. Walter Ent, of Elrod, visited his uncle, David Hair Saturday. Mrs. Thomas Ward and Mrs James Mead entertained James Hoag and wife, of Cincinnati. Rev. Otis McMullen filled the C. A. pulpit here Sunday in the absence of the regular pastor. Mr. and Mrs. Christ Nieman enter tained Mr. and Mrs. Gynne, of Cin cinnati. John Bruns and wife entertained Albert Kramer and wife Sunday. Clarence Robbins and wife, former ly of Greensburg, are now residents of our town. The canning factory is nearing completion. The new bank has its fine safe in place and is now ready to talk busi ness to depositors. The building, ev erything considered, is a fine struc ture and a credit to the town. We certainly wish this new enterprise success. Thomas Hubbard and family will move to Boggstown in the near fu ture. Several of the members of the Eastern Star attended the institu tion of a Chapter at Batesville last week. Mrs. Philip Trautman and daugh ter were recent visitors to the Queen City. Misses Fiona and Harriet Hornung, of Greensburg, were guests of Miss Saltmarsh last week. Misses Amelia, Emma, Lulu and Marie Peters, of Rushville, were re cent guests of Christ Nieman and wife. Atty. James Connelly, of Milan, was a recent caller here. ATOLL 7S Rr. NWO. 8S Anthony Weber is reported on the sick list. Harry Luers and wife, of Reading. O., spent several days last week with the latter’s parents, Mathias Werner and wife. Lizzie Dickman returned to the Queen City, after having spent sev eral weeks with home tasks. August Riedeman, who has been suffering with a slight attack of ap pendicitis, is improving. After having spent several days with friends at Millyvy, Greensburg, Shelbyville and Indianapolis, Law rence and June Kirschbaum returned again with their automobile Sunday afternoon. Casper Hepyner is busy shredding core. Lena Werner, who has been ill for some time is improving. She was operated on one day last week. Dan Shields and Lou Wulf, of Peppertown, were seen at Oldenburg Saturday. Louisa Brandis spent last week with home folks. John Riedeman spent last week with home folks. William Ferkinhoff, Jacob Hepner, William Weishmeyer and Joseph Schrank have returned home from Benton Co., where they have been husking care. It is said that Schrank has the reputation for husking 125 bushels a day. Mike Gauck, of Morris, was a vis itor in this vicinity Sunday. Leo Schmidt left Wednesday for a trip through several western states. Frank f Flodder lost a valuable horse one day last week. J.ee Kraus, of Cross Roads, visited friends here Sunday. Charles Tape, of Cincinnati, is spending a short vacation with Henry Schmidt and wife. Joseph Fledderman, of Cincinnati, is visiting home folks. J.H. Schwegman transited busi ness at Brookville Saturday. Ben Langferman returned home from Benton o,, Sunday where he has been working for Wm. Strasbur ger. One of the improvements to be no ticed along R. R. No. 3 is a fine new granary recently built by Adam Fangman. When a farmer erects 4 large and commodious granary it is pretty good evidence that that farm er’s farm is producing something.
