Chas. Hutchins Will Be President and P. W. Mitchell Secy. of the Farmers’ Grain Co. (Special to Evening Teller.) NEZPERCE, Dec. 12.—It is learned today on good authority that the man agement of the Farmers’ Grain com pany, limited, will be changed some time during the coming week. Charles Hutchins will succeed James Boyd as president with P. W. Mitchell as suc cessor to William Baird as secretary. IIt is understood the entire force of em ployees will be changed with the ex ception of one or two. With this change ends one of the many dreams of “the co-operative system as applied by the average rancher to business principles. The Farmers’ Grain company was organized by the farmers of Nex Perce prairie as a leverage to be used by them on the various grain firms home business in that section. Over 200 farmers at one time were active members of this organization, but financial difficulties thinned their ranks until not more than one-half of the original number now remain. Some weeks ago Charles Hutchins, a prominent rancher living in the Rus sell neighborhood, started in quietly to buy up a controling interest in the company, and it is now understood owns about two-thirds of the stock. When the company was organized one vote was allowed for each share of stock, valued at $50. This clause in the by-laws now places the control of the Institution virtually in his hands. The backers of Hutchins are not defi nitely known at this time and the public can only surmise as to the real owners of the stock purchased by him.
