more interesting to ub after it vu moved to Beuna Vista, for there it was operated largely by members who later moved to Timpson and joined the Umpson lodge. The lodgebuilding burned at Beuna Vista while Ir. J. B. Basaey was worshipful master, which, we think, was in 1876. The building was never rebuilt in that town. Timpson sprang up in a few years, and almost the 'whole citizenry of Beuna Viata moved to the new town. The lodge was moved back to Pleasant Grove, near where It originated. Really this lodge might have moved to Timpaon, because it was only four miles away, and most of its members moved here. But Golden Drain Lodge, moved down from Caledonia, and Newburn went back south. Members of this lodge while located at Beuna visti are. the sires of many Timpson people of today. On the rolls we And: J. W. Ballard, Frank Beck. J. B. Bussey. Z. Booth. J. N. Bentley, M. H. In the early days of Sam Sam-ford Lodge No. 149, functioning at Center, we find that the list of past masters and members are almost identical with thoes given at Truitt'a store. But this lodge, like the town of Center, has grown rapidly, and is today the largest lodg** in the county, boasting 2.37 members. It has many interesting members and has furnished ua our District Deputy Grand Masters for half of the time during the last quarter of a century, in the persons of E. H. Carter, Lon G. Price and W. C. McClendon. The present list of past masters is composed of E. H. Carter, W. W. Hanna, W. C. McLendon, W. C. Roberta, J. D. Norris, Lon G. Price, S. A. Peacock. O. J. Rushing. Ed C. Smith, Jake Stubbs, T.D. Watson. J. B. Windham andHorace C. It wa, organized in 1860 and functioned during the Civil War. It was named Sam Samford Lodge No. 218. This lodge is reported as demising in 1868. We feel acre that in a eenae. it waswith its roll of 178 members. It was organized in 1901, but a history of Joaquin Masonry should begin with Truitt Lodge No. 149 and include Jim Truitt Lodge No. 345, for they are the foundation of the present lodge. This lodge, we believe, has bad more certificate members than any other lodge in the county. We give here the Hat of past masters: C. B Lambert, W. A. Blevins, S. S. McCreary. E. I*.
