We learn that a negro named John Wells, was shot in a saloon at Carlisle, on Monday night. He was shot in the head, but not kill ed. We could not learn whether the shot was accidental, nor who fired it. The ladies of the Presbyterian congrega tion in this place have organized a mission ary society. They meet at the church to morrow and spend the day in working for the cause.
