Roosevelt PiperA funeral was Saturday, Dec. 5, for Roosevelt Piper, a resident of Chicago Heights, who died Sunday, Nov. 29.The service was conducted at McCullough Funeral Home, Ford Heights, with the Rev. J.C. Smith officiating.Interment was in Mount Glen-wood Memory Gardens, Glen-wood.Mr. Piper was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Mangham, La. He was employed for 25 years at Jack Brown Buick of Chicago Heights; and a member of Christ Temple No. 2, Ford Heights.He is survived by a daughter, Mercedes Smith of Pennsylvania; six sons, Roosevelt Jr. and Cornelius Piper, both of Kenner, La., Marvin of Hammond, Ind., Andre, Wilbert of St. Louis, Mo., and Donald of Chicago; three sisters, Jessie Williams of Shreveport, La., True Miller Byrd of Phoenix, Ariz,, and Rosiana Piper of Chicago Heights; a brother, Thomas Whittier Jr. of Markham; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
